Please read the follow information from Dr. Farrington: Due to recent concerns with on line pharmacies having counterfeit or expired product, and the difficulties often encountered trying to prescribe medications for veterinary patients through human pharmacies, we have teamed up with our supplier and Vetsource, to offer an on line alternative through our website. The medications and products available through Vetsource are from the same veterinary supplier that provides the medications we prescribe directly from the clinic, and are guaranteed as if purchased directly from our clinic.
Vetsource has also promised to make available all of the rebates and discounts that the manufacturer's would have provided if you bought directly from us, and have agreed to honor the same effectiveness warranties. If you buy your heartworm preventative from Vetsource, and have two negative fecal and heartworm tests, depending on the manufacture, a part or all of the costs of diagnostics and treatment may be covered instead of just a rebate for the cost of the heartworm preventative. All prescription food products will have a 100% guarantee, and if your pet won't eat the diet, you can donate the product and get the refund just like with Chewy.com
Due to changes in Rhode Islands Prescribing laws that instituted in March 2020, human pharmacies can start requiring electronic prescriptions for controlled substances and some other prescription medications. Because veterinarians are not able to register for NDI registration numbers, we will not be able to provide those electronic prescriptions. The Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association is currently trying to work out an exemption for veterinarians with the state legislators, but that is still not certain.
